Honourable Foreign Minister Mr. Shisir Khanal and H.E. Mr. Maxim Ryzhenkov, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, signed the Agreement between the Government of Nepal and the Government of the Republic of Belarus on Visa Exemption for Holders of Diplomatic, Official and Service Passports, on behalf of their respective Governments today.

In a cordial meeting held prior to the signing ceremony, both the Foreign Ministers discussed a wide range of issues of mutual interest and reaffirmed the commitment to further strengthening friendly bilateral relations and cooperation including in labour, education, trade, investment and people-to-people relations.

The Foreign Minister also had a bilateral meeting with His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates at the Permanent Mission of UAE to UN in New York.

During the meeting, the Foreign Minister expressed deep appreciation and gratitude to the Government and people of the United Arab Emirates for their sympathy and solidarity as well as critical humanitarian assistance including a fresh pledge of additional USD 25 million in financial support for communities affected by the devastating climate-induced floods in Nepal. The two dignitaries held constructive discussions on matters of mutual interest and underscored the importance of further strengthening close and cooperative bilateral ties across mutually beneficial areas, including labour, trade, investment, tourism, renewal energy, connectivity and multilateral cooperation within the UN.

The Foreign Minister also attended separate events organized by NRN & other Nepali diaspora organizations in USA.
